Gracie Shepherd is willing to do almost anything to save her sick mother. Overworked and struggling with huge hospital bills, she turns to her wealthy and dangerous father, Dax Moroni, for help. But Dax never gives anything for free. He offers Gracie a way to pay for her mother’s treatment: get a job at Crown Pictures and secretly collect damaging information about its new president, Victor Corona.

There is one problem. Gracie has already met Victor under terrible circumstances at the Lux nightclub, where he saved her from a group of aggressive customers and then fired her after their encounter ended badly. Now she must convince the same cold, powerful man to hire her as his live-in assistant. Victor is controlling, demanding, and used to getting exactly what he wants. Gracie, however, refuses to be easily intimidated. Her honesty and stubbornness quickly make her different from everyone around him.

Working beside Victor pulls Gracie deep into the glamorous but dangerous world of Hollywood. At Crown Pictures, she faces jealous movie star America Jones, hostile investors, secret financial deals, and people who want Victor removed from power. At Victor’s luxurious mansion, their professional relationship becomes increasingly personal. Their attraction is impossible to ignore, but Victor insists on strict boundaries and one important rule: no feelings.

Gracie soon discovers that Victor is more complicated than the arrogant studio boss she first imagined. Behind his confidence are painful memories, family secrets, and a difficult relationship with his father, Raphael Corona. Victor is trying to rebuild Crown Pictures after years of corruption, while Dax and other powerful men want the old system back. Gracie becomes trapped between the father who controls her through fear and the man she is supposed to betray.

As the pressure grows, Gracie must hide her connection to Dax while protecting her mother and deciding how much she can trust Victor. Meanwhile, Victor faces attacks on his career, his reputation, and his family history. From film sets and boardrooms to hospital rooms, luxury mansions, private parties, and red carpets, their lives become surrounded by secrets, threats, jealousy, and dangerous power games.

What begins as a secret mission turns into an intense fight between loyalty, desire, family, and survival. Gracie must decide whether she can escape her father’s control without destroying Victor, while Victor must confront the secrets surrounding his past before they take away everything he has tried to build.
